When researching teardrop trailers, an initial Google search will turn up a dozen or more small-batch teardrop trailer manufacturers. One of those website results I clicked on belongs to Overland Trailers, owned and operated by partners Mark Jenke and Nathan Henson. Their trademark teardrop is called the 58 Heald. It is an aerodynamic, light, comfortable, vintage-style camper with a stainless steel exterior, which doesn’t oxidize or easily crease like aluminum.

I reached out to Mark and Nathan for my book and learn a lot about how they go about manufacturing their trailer for the retail market. They’ve designed the 58 Heald to be as maintenance free as possible for customers. They use local CNC machining to produce parts at scale with exactness. The result is a functional and easy-to-tow teardrop trailer, that can be pulled by vehicles with at least a 2,000-lb towing capacity.
